Products I repurchase over and over again

Irish beauty blog

Because I have spent more time over on Instagram this year than I have here, I felt that now was the right time to put some of my chats down in writing. One big thing I wanted to speak about was those “I can’t live without them” products. The things I take for granted that you all know about but here’s the low down in case you don’t. These are the products I repurchase again and again without question. Do any of your favourites appear here?

Another well loved Nivea Eye Makeup Remover

Nivea Daily Effect Eye Make up Remover

I adore this product. It is such a superior product considering the price point. I wear Waterproof liquid eye liner most days and this just cuts through it. I have tried products ten times more expensive than this one that don’t come anywhere near it. It is a two phase cleanser, the oil phase is the one that works hard at removing your waterproof eye make up. The Aqueous phase cares for the lashes, conditioning them without leaving a greasy residue.

How to use it: Give the bottle a really good shake making sure that both parts are well mixed together. Then soak two cotton pads and place them over your eyes. Leave the cotton pads on your eyelids for about 20 seconds and then working from the outside in, sweep them over the lids. You don’t need to rub at all. If you feel there is any eye makeup left just repeat the process with new cotton pads.

Another Double Serum bites the dust!!

Clarins Double Serum

I originally wrote about Double Serum in this post but it was an older version of the product. Since then Clarins have added Turmeric to Double Serum as it’s 21st Active Plant Extract. Turmeric is renowned for it’s exceptional anti aging properties. The bottle has also had an upgrade, helping to avoid product wastage. Using the fab rotating push button on the top of the bottle you can now choose between two made to measure dosages.

Having used Double Serum for over two years I know it will always be a product that I repurchase. My skin feels like an elevated version of itself whenever I apply it. It helps to even out skin tone. It leaves the skin feeling soft and radiant. If your skin is dehydrated and feels tight often, I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

How to use it: Double Serum can be used either once or twice a day depending on the condition of the skin. Apply to clean skin, choose a dosage size. Pump it into your hand and mix the product together first before applying it to your face. Finish with your desired day or night cream.

These Essence Shine, Shine, Shine lip glosses are so worth picking up

Essence Shine, Shine, Shine Lipgloss

I’m not a matte lipstick lover. In fact, 9 times out of ten if I wear a matte lipstick I wear some form of gloss over it. These lipglosses from Essence are just exceptional. They are so affordable and feel beautiful on the lips. Even though they are “wet look” they’re not at all sticky. They come in a full range of colours but I don’t think any make up lover should be without the clear one. The tinted ones have a surprising amount of pigment and the applicator makes it easy to apply without overloading the lips

The only negative I can think of is they smell quite strongly. Not something that bothers me too much but if Vanilla/Love Heart sweets aren’t your thing then these might not be for you.

A life saver before a big event!!

Pixi Glow 02 Oxygen Mask

This was originally sent to me in a PR package from Pixi and I spoke about my first impressions here. Since then it has been a frequent repurchase. I usually wait until there’s an offer on in Boots or Cloud 10 Beauty and stock up then!! It’s such a unique product and it’s something I get asked a lot about every time I use it on Instagram.

It’s basically a primer in mask form but elevated!! It is a brilliant product to have in your stash, especially if you have a big event coming up that requires your makeup to go on seamlessly. It visibly brightens the skin and leaves it feeling absolutely squeaky clean. If like me, you deal with uneven skin tone, it really helps to even that out.

How to use it: Apply it to clean skin avoiding the lips and eye area. After a few seconds the gel will begin to bubble and your skin will begin to feel tingly, this is normal. Leave it on for about 3 minutes and then wash off. Apply skincare and makeup as normal.

One of my Holy Grail cleansers!!

L’Occitane Immortelle Oil Make up Remover

A staple in my cleanser collection. The first one I used was gifted to me by the brand but it’s been a repurchase ever since. This is such a wonderful cleanser and removes even the most stubborn of makeup. It cuts through waterproof mascara and liquid liner like a hot knife through butter. Even though it’s used with water it doesn’t leave your skin feeling dry or tight.

I strongly recommend it as a first cleanse especially if you’re wearing a full face of makeup. It will leave the skin feeling soft and supple and will set you up perfectly for your second cleanse.

How to use it: Pump it into the palm of your hand and massage it into the skin in circular motions. It is even suitable to use over the eye area. This will eliminate the need for a separate eye make up remover. Work it in to a lather using a little bit of water and then remove using a wash cloth.

So there you go, some of my repeatedly repurchased favourites. Have you tried any of these products before? As usual,  if you have any questions just pop them below. Thanks for reading.

Hi Joanne thanks for the recommendations. I’m a fan of the Clarins cleansing melt which is being discontinued. Would the L”occitane oil be a good substitute for it? Thanks. Gemma

It would actually be a fab alternative. The texture will be different as the L’Occitane cleanser is an oil as opposed to a melt but they’re both really excellent cleansers. I’m gutted the Clarins one is being discontinued too
