Essence Cosmetics live laugh celebrate collection

Last week I was very kindly sent some pieces from the “live.laugh.celebrate” collection from Essence Cosmetics to try. This trend edition collection was launched to celebrate 15 years of Essence Cosmetics. A colourful and vibrant collection that reflects Essence Cosmetics beautifully.

Firstly the palettes are so pretty and girly, they come in a choice of two sizes, a four piece palette or an eight piece one. They lid is filled with multi coloured beads that move around inside when you shake it. The palettes are interchangeable so can be personalized simply by clicking your choices in and out making them so easy to customize.

The choice of products that you can get are quite diverse too. There’s a highlighter powder, a fixing powder, ten different shades of eye shadow, a shimmer blush, a lip base and a two shades of lip powder. I was intrigued by the lip powder if I’m honest because I have never heard of anything like that before. I have to say I was so pleasantly surprised by it. It works so well with the lip base, which makes your lips feel lovely and soft first and putting the powder over it gives you a beautiful creamy matte finish. I’m also seriously impressed with the lip powders staying power. I’ve tested it while eating and drinking copious amounts of coffee and water and it absolutely stays put. Please Essence keep this product in your regular range and just keep bringing out new colours, it is fabulous!!

The matte eye shadow shades are velvety and colour can be built up gradually with them. The shimmer shades pack a real punch and are shimmery as opposed to glittery which ticks all of my boxes!! I personally have a soft spot for the shade “The Sun is Shining” its a really pretty soft golden shade, just perfect with blue eyes.

All in all I think these palettes are such great value for money. They are so much fun and for a trend edition they have such a great variety of colours too. The eight piece palettes are €2.50, the four piece palettes are €1.90 and each powder, blusher and eye shadow is €1.90 each too so as you can see they are remarkable value.
