I realised recently that I haven’t done a favourites post in ages so I’m going to share with you what I’ve been loving this past month or so.
First up is Stretch Lash mascara from Isa Dora Ireland. Full disclosure, this mascara was sent to me by the PR company but hand on heart it is awesome!! Up until I started using this mascara I had been religiously using Lancome Monsieur Big mascara. So what’s great about this mascara? Firstly, the pigment. I harp on and on about loving really dark black mascara and Stretch Lash firmly ticks that box.
Secondly the wand. It’s an engineering masterpiece. When you take it out of the tube first it looks like a regular mascara wand but at the end of the tube is a roller mechanism that changes the size of the wand based on your needs.
You can use the full length of the wand to coat your longer lashes as normal but then reduce it down to it’s smallest size to grab the smaller lashes on the inner eye. I think it’s excellent for giving volume and length to the lashes and as I’ve said the pigment is fab. I have used this mascara every day since I received it and 100% I will be buying it.
Next up is Mineral Infused Face Primer from E.L.F. Cosmetics. A few weeks ago I was very kindly sent a PR package from E.L.F Cosmetics. Not a brand I know very much about so I was very excited to give their products a try. Out of the products they sent, I found two that really impressed me. The first one is this primer. The little that I do know about E.L.F Cosmetics is that they are renowned for making great primers. What made it great for me?
Firstly I thought it didn’t a great job evening out my skin. One of the areas I’m most self conscious about is my forehead. To me I have a lot of lines there and I find that foundation can disappear in there and settle in the creases. Using this primer before applying my makeup has categorically improved this.
I feel like it helped to plump the area out so it appeared less craggy!! I also felt that it helped my makeup stay on longer. Baring in mind that I have been using it through fairly hot weather, making it even more impressive. E.L.F Cosmetics are available in Penneys and selected pharmacies nationwide priced at €10.75.
Second product from E.L.F. Cosmetics that really impressed me is the HD Loose Powder in Soft Luminance. How is this powder €10.75? I actually have no idea, it rivals powders three times the price in my humble opinion. The press release says that it creates a “soft focus” effect on the skin and I couldn’t agree with this more.
I always have issues with powder sitting in the pores on my nose. This is the first loose powder I’ve used that hasn’t done that. It’s a really fine powder so it doesn’t clump on the skin and doesn’t leave a chalky residue. When I’m applying it I actually use the puff included (again a first) and dab it lightly on the areas I want to set. I then use a brush to remove any excess. This powder also comes in a Sheer shade but I think the Soft Luminance shade gives the skin a fabulous lift.
If you’ve been following me for any length of time you’d know that when it comes to my eyebrows I’ve always been a Benefit girl!!! That remained the case until these beauties from The Balm landed on my door mat. If you haven’t tried any products from The Balm, please rectify that immediately, it’s the most underrated brand in the world. So all along I’ve been using Precisely My Brow from Benefit so I would liken to that except it’s over €10 cheaper!! I’ve been using the shade Dark Brown but it also comes in Light Brown and Blonde.
On one side you have a very precise retractable pencil that adds detail and definition to the brows with ease. On the other side there’s a spooley brush that you can use to brush through the brows or to create a softer look if required. The pigment is fabulous and once it’s on, it doesn’t move. I’m so impressed with it. It has fully converted me from Benefit
Cloud 10 Beauty stock this and all of the other wonderful products The Balm so go and have a peek. This is in no way sponsored, I just love this brand so I want to spread the word.
Have you tried any of these? What are your favourites right now?
