L’Occitane are one of those brands for me that never get it wrong. I’m a huge fan of their fragrances, their hand creams and their body care. I’m also a huge fan of their skincare but realistically it’s out of my price range. I’ve only ever had the chance to try miniature versions of their skincare products in free gifts and they’ve always been wonderful.
If this sounds familiar to you then I have some great news for you. Let me introduce the Aqua Reotier collection.
Made using spring water from the Reotier spring in Provence, this collection is ideal for anybody with dry or dehydrated skin. It has been proven that the water from this spring contains 10 times more calcium than other French thermal springs. Calcium is a key factor in helping skin to retain moisture and hydration. Not only that it’s also a lot easier on the wallet than other L’Occitane skincare ranges. Let me break the collection down for you.
Aqua Reotier Water Gel Cleanser €19.00
So normally I’m not a fan of gel cleansers at all but this one feels like your splashing cool water on your face. It is so refreshing and cooling. There’s a really lightweight feel to it and it doesn’t leave the skin feeling tight or uncomfortable once it’s rinsed off. Very little of the product is needed to fully cleanse the face. At €19.00 I think it’s excellent value for money.
Aqua Reotier Moisture Prep Essence €24.00
L’Occitane describe this as a “light gel-texture pre-moisturiser”. I think looking at it I assumed it was a toner but I was wrong. The texture is completely different. Firstly your skin feels so refreshed after you apply it. Although slightly thicker on application it changes to a water like texture once you apply it to your skin. Obviously I know that this particular step in a skin care regime isn’t for everybody. I can say that you really do notice how much cleaner your face feels after using it. It’s slightly more expensive than the cleanser but again you need so little of it I feel it’s worth the investment.
Aqua Reotier Ultra Thirst Quenching Cream/Gel €29.00 each
To be completely transparent here I can only comment on the Cream version of this moisturiser. I have yet to use the gel as right now I don’t think it would be hydrating enough for my skin. On saying that though I think it’s going to be fab in the summer.
The cream has surprised me. I had thought that maybe it wouldn’t be nourishing enough but that’s not the case. As well as calcium rich Reotier water the cream is also enriched with hydrating hyaluronic acid. I think it does help that my skin is moving out of that epic dryness period I experienced over the winter. I’m definitely not as dry as I was then thankfully. If I was then I’m not sure this cream alone would be enough. I also want to mention that I’ve been using the cream as my day cream only and using a heavier cream at night as I prefer a richer texture at night.
One thing I’m loving is the smell of the products it’s just beautiful, so fresh and uplifting. Can we also take a moment for the STUNNING packaging, doesn’t it just screams hydration?
Aqua Reotier Fresh Moisturising Mist €14.00
Although I’m really loving this collection I think this is my favourite part. It’s so, so hydrating. Spritz a little bit of this on your face and you feel instantly refreshed. I have also used it over my makeup and it caused no movement whatsoever. Currently I’ve been using it after I apply the Thirst Quenching Cream and it’s really adding extra moisture. I will definitely be re-purchasing this as it’s going to be amazing during the summer too.
Please bare in mind that I haven’t been using this range for very long so these are just my first impressions. I’ll be continuing to use them over the next few months so I’ll be happy to update this post once I’ve tried them properly.
I’ve also had a browse on the L’Occitane website and they’ve got some great offers on this collection right now. Here’s an offer on the entire collection featuring the gel moisturiser. And an offer on the entire collection featuring the cream moisturiser. Both include a saving of €21.00 and include free delivery!!
Have you tried any of this collection yet? Does anything tickle your fancy? Let me know.
